FTE is one of Europe's leading professional pilot training academies and is unusual in offering a fully integrated training program all carried out at its facility in Jerez. All the facilities are within two minutes walk from the accommodation and are designed to ensure that the optimum training value is achieved. From its inception, FTE has set the benchmark for JAR training and continues to set the very highest of standards and achieve the very best of results.
The training aircraft fleet and Synthetic Training Devices (STD) at FTE have been selected to ensure optimum training value is achieved by each student on each training detail. Our large fleet of Piper aircraft are all fitted with identical radio navigation and instrument layout to ensure that no ‘re-learning’ is required between exercises. Likewise our FNPT II STDs also replicate the exact cockpit layout of the aircraft.

The simulator training centre on the campus at Jerez houses a fleet of STD's chosen to compliment the aircraft fleet of the college and to ensure that each student receives the optimum training value from each flight.
The single engine STDs chosen by the college are the Frasca 141. Used for introductory instrument training. The college operates three FNPT II devices modelled on the Seneca. They were built using an actual Seneca cockpit and are fitted with a visual system. These devices have identical handling characteristics and exact instrument layout as their aircraft equivalent.
Multi Crew Cooperation (MCC) and Jet Orientation Course (JOC) training are conducted in a Mechtronix FFT-X Boeing 737NG Flight Training Device. Type Rating training is also conducted on this device by our TRTO partner.
Continuity of training is a fundamental element in ensuring a trainee pilot achieves the highest results possible. To achieve such continuity FTE recognizes the importance of operating its own engineering workshop on the campus, dedicated to supplying serviceable aircraft for the training task .The engineering and maintenance facilities at Jerez are second to none, holding airline level EASA 145 qualifications and enabling Jerez to operate a fleet of extremely reliable training aircraft.

The engineering workshop is dedicated to the maintenance of the college´s wholly Piper fleet. The engineering team does not conduct any third party maintenance and are there solely to service the college fleet.
A side benefit of having this facility on campus is that it provides the opportunity for students in ground school to observe first hand the aircraft engineering process.
An aviation reference library is situated within the campus. The library gives students the opportunity to read additional text books or listen to aviation CDs and CD ROMs in a quiet and private environment. Aviation magazines are also provided within the library to ensure students can keep up to date with the latest industry news.

FTE graduates achieve exceptional JAR ATPL examination results. On average our graduates achieve results 8% higher than the UK CAA average. Such outstanding results are achieved through commitment to quality and a heavy focus on learning and understanding the material rather than just passing the exams. Two CBT rooms are available for students use on a self-study basis. These facilities provide training which supplements ground school lectures which is designed to assist students prepare for exams or to revise material at the students own pace.
A crew room is available 24 hours a day with free tea and coffee for students. The crew room is close to all training facilities including the aircraft parking area, so iseasily accessible during breaks in the training day. The crew room provides a common area where students and staff can meet to relax in an informal environment and discuss the days experiences.
The crew room also contains food and drink vending machines as well as satellite TV.

Jerez airport is located about 5Km north of the city of Jerez. The airport is a modern, efficient yet quiet international facility with regular scheduled flights from London (Stansted), Madrid and Barcelona operated by Ryan Air, Iberia and Air Berlin. Many other destinations are served from Seville and Gibraltar airports, both of which are just a one hour drive from Jerez.

Jerez International Airport provides full instrument approach facilities including ILS, VOR and NDB approaches. It is located in uncongested airspace and provides easy and quick access to training areas. The airport is manned by Air Traffic Controller's seven days a week from 07.00 to 22.00 providing the college with a large training window. Airport services include full firefighting and rescue facilities and a Aeronautical Information Service (AIS) and Meteorology service.
Being located adjacent to the college campus, FTE enjoys easy access to taxiways and the runway.
