The Application Process

Applying for a course at FTE Jerez is quite simple. Please follow the steps below:

  1. Complete and send our Online Application Form, which is split into three phases:
    1. Personal Information
    2. Specific information of the course you have selected
    3. Please send the following documentation to info@ftejerez.com :
      • Academic certificates
      • UK JAA Class 1 medical (in the event that you already hold one)
      • PPL licence and last page of your logbook (should you hold them)
      • If electronic copies are not available you can fax copies of these documents to us on +34 956 18 24 33
  2. You will receive an electronic confirmation when your application has been received.
  3. The FTE Jerez training team will review your application to make sure that it complies with our Entry Requirements.  You will be informed about your acceptance into our Airline Aptitude Assessment process.
  4. You will arrange a date to undertake Airline Aptitude Assessment Tests in Jerez. An English test is required if English is not the candidate’s mother tongue.  This will be taken prior to the Airline Aptitude Assessment tests. We would like to highlight that in 2009 these tests will be FREE. Furthermore, during your two day stay in Jerez, you will have free accommodation on site.
  5. Upon successful completion of the Airline Aptitude Assessment Tests, FTE Jerez will be in a position to offer the candidate a place in a course.

About Entry Requirements
The integrated course is intense and demanding. In order to cope with the breadth and speed of delivery of the course, candidates need to be capable in Mathematics, English and Science based subjects. A minimum five GCSE passes at level C or above (or equivalent) including English, Mathematics, and at least one science is necessary. Although not essential, Physics is highly desirable.
About English Language
Instruction and all ground school exams are in English and of a technical nature. Sufficient written and oral English language is a prerequisite and forms a part of the selection process for non native English language speakers.
About Selection Testing
Aptitude testing is compulsory for entry.
Suggested Pre-course Study for Integrated Course

It is suggested that, study or revision of the following topics will be of assistance:

Trigonometry triangles

Vector triangles

Angles within circles

Properties of circles

Geometrical relations

Interpolation

Transposition of formulae

Arithmetical skills, mental arithmetic

Ability to read graphs

Basic magnetism

Basic electrics

Understanding of power, work, energy, moments of force. Reference to: Chapter 1 'Mechanics of Flight' by A C Kermode

Medical

UK CAA issued Initial JAA Class 1 medical is mandatory. For further details click here.

It is suggested that your appointment be made well in advance. You will need to allow a full day for the medical.

Finance Asistance

Flight Training Europe recognizes that funding a pilot training course can be a complex process to follow. To this end we have agreed with BBVA bank in London a finance package for flying training that will have a number of advantages over other existing finance packages.  Some of these are:

Coverage for FULL amount of training fees

Competitive Interest Rates: Euribor 3 months + 1,75%

No pay back required during the first 18 months from the date the loan is accepted.

Upon successful completion of the Airline Pilot Aptitude Assessment tests in Jerez, FTE will introduce you to the bank and will assist in completing a business case for the loan.

Licence Issued
JAA CPL/IR including MCC Certificate.
Payment
Payment is in Euros.
VAT/IVA
VAT/IVA applicable to accommodation and full board only.
Travel
Cost of travel is not included and has to be arranged by the individual. Getting to Jerez is very easy with Ryanair flying non stop to Jerez daily (twice daily during the summer programme) from London Stansted Airport and 4 times weekly non stop from Manchester with Monarch.
Visas
To be arranged by the individual, assistance given where required.
Holidays

No holiday allowance is included in the course duration. Most bank holidays are treated as a normal working day, however some bank holidays will be taken i.e. Easter.

Special leave may only be taken with the approval of Flight Training Jerez. Travel and room accommodation during any leave period will be at the student’s expense. Students will be charged for accommodation at Jerez during any absence.

Normally the business will not function for two weeks over the Christmas period (no cost will be charged over this period).
