The integrated course is intense and demanding. FTE is able to provide an English language assessment as part of the selection process to ensure that students have the required level of English for all elements of flight training. Intensive Aviation English Courses are also available at FTE for those students who might require them.

Aptitude tests are conducted by FTE in order to provide an assessment of suitability for pilot training. These tests include several written tests covering Maths and Physics, Numeracy and Verbal and Numerical Reasoning, and also a computer based assessment of manipulative and cognitive aptitudes.

Successful completion of the aptitude testing is compulsory for entry to FTE.

In addition, FTE is able to provide assistance with a full pilot selection program, which can be tailored to the specific requirements of any airline.
