The aim of the CPL (A) modular course is to train PPL (A) holders to the level of proficiency necessary for the issue of a CPL (A) and a Multi-Engine Piston Airplanes (Land) Class Rating.
Minimum age and medical fitness
An applicant for a CPL (A) shall be at least 18 years of age and shall hold a valid Class 1 medical certificate.
Entry Requirements
Before commencing a CPL (A) modular course an applicant shall:
- Be the holder of a PPL (A) issued in accordance with ICAO Annex 1, including a night rating
- Have completed 150 hours flight time as a pilot of which 70 hours must be as PIC to apply for the CPL licence 100 hours PIC will be required
- Have completed 300nm qualifying cross country flight
- Have passed the theoretical knowledge examination for CPL (A) or ATPL (A).
If the examinations were completed under another EASA authority, accreditation from the UK CAA will need to be obtained before commencing the course
- Hold a EASA Class 1 medical
- Be fluent in the English language
- It is desirable that the applicant holds a UK FRTOL, but this can be completed at FTEJerez

Training programme
- 8 hours Piper Warrior
- 7 hours Piper Seneca III based FNPT2
- 17.5 hours Piper Seneca III including 2.5 hours for the skill test CPL (A) / Multi-Engine Piston (MEP) Class Rating (A)
- Computer based training and briefs
- All flying training is dual instruction
- Course includes 7 hours mandatory theory training for the Multi-Engine Piston Class Rating theoretical knowledge examination
Fees and payment
- The course fee is 13,175€
- CAA licence issue and test fees not included
- Single use en-suite accommodation on site and meals available at additional cost (330€ + VAT per person per week)
