On 27th May five students on FTE Jerez’s foundation course, along with three members of staff, visited Airbus’s production facility in Puerto Real, Cádiz. This factory produces Horizontal Tailplane sections and control surfaces for the Airbus A340 and A380.
The students were given a guided tour of the factory floor and shown the different aspects of the operation. They were able to see several A380 tailplane sections at various stages of the manufacturing process as they are assembled, tested, painted, and then packed onto a special 60-ton rig for transport to the final assembly line in Toulouse by ship and road.
The students would like to thank the staff at the factory for their hospitality and for a fascinating visit
