Firstly, the FTEJerez training course is a truly integrated one. That means that we do not do the full ATP(A) ground school and exams up-front but rather integrate relevant sections of the academic curriculum with our flying training – all to ensure that our students derive the maximum benefit from their training.
All our flying training is conducted in EU airspace and conducted in/from one location, the Jerez International Airport. This has numerous benefits: FTEJerez is not influenced by other countries’ national authorities, our supervisory role is made a lot easier because of the continuity element and the sponsoring airline’s mentoring role is less cumbersome.
A major and unique plus point is the fact that each course intake is restricted to 14 students . This has obvious advantages – most of all enabling us to afford our students individual attention. Individual ground instructors also teach a maximum of 3 subjects.
The JAA regulators prescribe a maximum flight instructor/student ratio of 6:1. At FTEJerez it is normally 2:1 with a maximum of 3:1 at certain times.
