Our relationship with
European Universities and Institutes of Technology

Expanding your Studies

As a leading ATO, FTEJerez has a well-established relationship with a number of European Universities and Institutes of Technology.

Even though holding a University degree is not a requirement to enrol on the Airline First Officer Programme or to join an airline on completion of the course, some cadets commence their training at FTEJerez after graduating at University whilst others decide to enhance their ATPL with a Degree on completion of their training in Jerez.

FTEJerez visits the partner universities each academic year offering free assessments (written test and pilapt) and delivering presentations. These assessment scores are valid for a year instead of the standard 6 month limit, plus, one night of complimentary accommodation, full board, is available for students from our partner universities who wish to complete their assessment at FTEJerez with the personal interview and site tour.

IT Carlow

Dedicated to excellence in higher education

IT Carlow

IT Carlow

IT Carlow has been proactive in the development of aerospace related programmes over the last two decades, such as the EASA approved Bachelor of Engineering in Aircraft Systems, attracting students from over 27 countries. In addition, IT Carlow has been chosen as ‘The Sunday Times Institute of Technology of the year 2014’ and 'Best Aviation Academic Education' at the 'Aviation Industry Awards 2015', amongst other accolades.

This is why FTEJerez has chosen the Institute of Technology Carlow, Ireland, as its third level educational partner to deliver a B.Sc in Pilot Studies.

The degree is the result of close work with the airline industry, developing a new degree that meets the industry’s needs and expectations. Both institutions are pleased to present a programme which, after successful completion of 2 intensive semesters at IT Carlow, will not only add a formal recognition to your EASA ATPL but, unlike other degree programmes, will also deliver real academic value and further quality training that is truly appreciated by the industry’s main employers.

Direct entry to this programme is currently exclusive to FTEJerez students and pilots flying for FTEJerez’s airline partners. External graduates holding a valid frozen ATPL are welcome to apply, subject to FTEJerez and IT Carlow’s approval.

Vital experience and skills to augment academic studies

DCU

Dublin City University

DCU’s programme offers a distinct choice for those wishing to train as commercial pilots and pursue management careers in the dynamic world of aviation. The BSc in Aviation Management provides aspiring pilots with a sound business understanding of the industry in which they will work, directly targeting those areas of business which are of central importance to the success of the industry and offering a route to a professional qualification as a commercial pilot combined with a strong background in business education.

In the fourth year of the degree, students may opt to pursue integrated flight training at an approved ATO, such as FTEJerez, with a view to qualifying as an airline pilot.

Therefore, DCU students training at FTEJerez will, on completion of the ‘Airline First Officer Programme’, obtain both an EASA ATPL and a BSc in Aviation Management.
