FTEJerez celebrates the expansion of its training aircraft fleet

Coinciding with the recent delivery of the first 4 twin-engine  Diamond DA-42 aircraft and 2 associated flight training devices,  FTEJerez  celebrated yesterday the official inauguration of its new state-of-the-art training equipment.

The event, hosted on the FTEJerez campus, was attended by a number of distinguished guests, including Ms María José García Pelayo,the Mayor of Jerez, Mr Javier de Torre, senior central government representative to the Province of Cadiz, Mr Luis Llorens, the Regional Director of Corporate Banking for BBVA and Mr Bernhard Gruber, Fleet Sales Manager of Diamond aircraft.

In his welcoming speech, the FTEJerez CEO, Oscar Sordo, highlighted FTEJerez’s continued commitment to the delivery of top quality training . He also mentioned that it was only fitting that the training at FTEJerez of the cadet pilots of some of the world’s leading airlines, should be done utilising the most sophisticated and state-of-the-art equipment available.

Both the Mayor of Jerez and the central government representative acknowledged the leading role of FTEJerez  in the international pilot training arena and lauded the college’s contribution to the local economy, particularly against the background of the current negative economic situation worldwide and in Spain.

Bernhard Gruber, Sales Manager of Diamond Aircraft of Austria, referred to FTEJerez’s reputation as one of the ‘most recognised flight training organisations’ and highlighted the college’s mission to train the future pilots for today’s and tomorrow’s global player airlines.

The Diamond DA42 twin engine aircraft are powered by the Austro diesel engine which has a proven high level of reliability and is more environmentally friendly on all available Jet Fuel Types. This modern, composite, four-seater aircraft is equipped with the Garmin G1000 glass cockpit including the GFC700 Automatic Flight Control System with all the units air-conditioned to enhance the overall quality of training.
