Iberia has announced today the third edition of the Iberia Cadetes programme, in partnership with FTEJerez. This programme aims to select the best candidates and contribute to their training by funding 50% of the course fees.

Following a rigorous selection process, Iberia and FTEJerez will select 16 candidates to join FTE’s September and October courses. Selected candidates will complete FTE’s Airline First Officer Programme, designed for those with little or no previous flying experience. This programme follows an integrated pathway that will allow successful candidates to obtain an EASA ATPL licence with FTEJerez.

In addition, Iberia will fund 50% of the programme’s fees in an effort to promote the job of an airline pilot amongst the younger generations by supporting them to fund their training. Once the cadets complete their training course at FTEJerez, they will be given the opportunity to join Iberia and, this way, they will be able to repay Iberia’s student loan once they start earning a salary as a newly qualified First Officer.

Following the launch of the Iberia Cadetes programme, Oscar Sordo, FTE’s CEO, commented that: “We are proud that Iberia continues to trust FTEJerez to train its next generation of pilots. Without a doubt, this new edition is not only a recognition of the success of the Iberia Cadetes programme that we launched for the first time in 2017, but it also confirms the recovery of the industry and the bright future ahead”.

“We are very proud to launch a third edtion of Iberia Cadetes, a sign that the programme is yielding good results for both the candidates and the company and, above all, that we are in a time of high demand for these industry professionals. In this context, Iberia’s ambition is to always have the most qualified pilots with the best skills, and the cadet programme allows us to finance the candidates’ careers and monitor their training, in accordance with the future needs of the company” – added Rafael Jiménez Hoyos, Chief Operating Officer, Iberia.

Amongst the requirements, candidates must have the right to live and work in the EU and be fluent in Spanish. Candidates interested in applying may find out more, check the entry requirements and submit an online application until the 21st of July at www.ftejerez.com/iberia.
