FTEJerez welcomes new Aer Lingus cadets

FTEJerez today welcomed the first group of Aer Lingus recruits who are part of the airline’s latest pilot cadetship programme. The airline received an overwhelming response with over 3,000 applications for their cadet pilot training programme. They will be joined by a second group of recruits in February 2015.

Last May twenty Aer Lingus cadets, who had successfully completed the cadetship programme, graduated from FTEJerez and became fully-fledged Aer Lingus co-pilots.  They are now all flying Aer Lingus’ short haul European routes.

This is the third Aer Lingus pilot cadetship programme with FTEJerez to commence since 2011.

FTEJerez CEO, Oscar Sordo, said “we are honoured to again have been chosen by Aer Lingus to train the airline’s future pilots and look forward to strengthening the close ties that exist between our two organisations.  Aer Lingus’ choice of FTEJerez as training institution for the airline’s future captains, is further proof of the high regard the international aviation community has for the quality training FTEJerez provides. Aer Lingus is one of a number of leading international airlines entrusting FTEJerez with the training of their cadet pilots.”

Captain John Kelly, newly appointed Director of Flight Operations at Aer Lingus, commented as follows: “At Aer Lingus we believe that the highest standard of ab initio flight training is crucial in developing a pilot for the demands of airline operations. We have had an association with FTEJerez since our Cadet Pilot programme in 2000 and after a break of a number of years, recommenced this programme in 2012. FTEJerez continues to deliver the highest standards of training and care for our Cadets as they prepare for life in the world of commercial aviation.”

We welcome the new Aer Lingus cadets to Jerez and wish them everything of the best with their studies.
